The Trident was a magical place…I loved working there. I worked as a hostess in 1972. It was such a scene and as the hostess, I was the first person people would interact with when they came in. I got a kick out of watching their eyes pop out as they looked around.
The tourists especially would patiently wait until they were seated, ready for the experience. The food was great, the scene was great and getting high before, during and after your shift, was all part of it. After work I’d often head down to the No Name bar and I’d sometimes run into people I’d seen at the Trident. It was fun, hip and I was proud to be part of that memorable and wild time in Sausalito which was a moment in time that was very special.
I also sometimes worked mornings as a waitress at The Sweet Shop with a horrible curmudgeon of an older woman who made my life hell until I just quit. I hated getting up that early to work the breakfast shift there anyhow. Working at the ‘Dent was more fun so I just continued there. Plus you could get stoned during your shift at the Trident and as long as you kept it together and did your job, it was fine with everyone. As the hostess I felt it was my job to welcome people who were coming in for the first time and set them up for a real experience. I was Elena Rogova at that time. Great memories!

gosh I wish I could remember you..I was also there is 72 as a waitress...wonder if you remember a Donna ...
Happy Birthday. I think you might have shown our party to our seat. I bribed the server for a copy of the menu, complete with its phallic implications. We still have it - framed and hanging in our kitchen. Wish I could order from it today!
Wow, what a surprise to see you put up a post on the site on my birthday Mark! I see you chose a photo of me also. :)
Thank you and so sweet of you to mention my birthday! I’m spending my “birthday week” in Hawaii! ❣️🌴🌺
Donna, maybe if I saw a pic of you then...I vaguely remember the name “Donna”. I have a great memory but you know...at that time back in the Trident Daze...😂
I’ll try and find you on Facebook...
