Welcome to the original Trident Restaurant website. Memories from the mid-sixties through the seventies. Some seriously wild and crazy times! This site is currently under reconstruction. We updated the theme, hired an SEO company, and are in the process of recovering photos off of multiple computers to recreate those images for many of the posts here that disappeared during the site’s transition. This site should be fully up and running by mid-January 2021. We’re always looking for more memories (aren’t we all) aka stories, photos, and possibly any videos from “back in the day.” Thanks for checking this site out!
Recently Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones passed away (June 2, 1941, to August 24, 2021). The following image is from Bill Graham Presents on Facebook. Bill brought the Stones to the Trident for two private parties. Individual visits from members of the group continued (had a pot of tea with Ron Wood one afternoon while he waited for Rod Stewart) until the Trident closed for repairs in 1976.
Bill had his own table, as did Janis Joplin whenever they frequented the Trident which was often. Bill also provided the employees with free tickets to Stone’s concerts which we more than appreciated.
