Steve Elvin

Steve Elvin Trident Ceiling Mural 1969

Eye on the Bay, local Bay Area television, does a wonderful job displaying and describing the amazing ceiling and wall mural artwork/painting by Steve Elvin.  A curious part of this story is that Steve did most of this painting above a “live” audience. Suspended somehow on a scaffold on his back while the Trident was open. This is soooo Trident. Free wheeling artists expressing themselves through their own medium.  Art and performance art blended beautifully into a now protected part of Sausalito history. Enjoy the video!

I worked at the Trident from 1974 to 1976 when it was temporarily closed before reopening almost a year later with a new crew & menu. The era covered here is 1966 to 1980 when the Trident was "Magic!" Mark Danforth Lomas 805.845.2888 MDLomas@gmail.com
