Rick Danko of  “The Band” in his Trident T-Shirt. Since 1965, when he and his cohorts in The Band (then called The Hawks) conspired with Bob Dylan to “go electric,” Rick Danko has been an integral part of the popular music landscape. As lead singer, bassist and acoustic guitar player for The Band, and as a solo artist, his contributions have been substantial.

I worked at the Trident from 1974 to 1976 when it was temporarily closed before reopening almost a year later with a new crew & menu. The era covered here is 1966 to 1980 when the Trident was "Magic!" Mark Danforth Lomas 805.845.2888 MDLomas@gmail.com

  • Bob Dylan and The Band were playing in Oakland and had a party at The Trident thanks to Jerry Pompili. Robbie was wearing a Trident t shirt on stage in Oakland.

    • Hey Mel,
Can you share a little more light on this? Were you or Lisa there for the party? Would love to create a new post. Thanks for checking in, best!
